HMP is an art project launched by Tate Liverpool in partnership with Novus Education. It focuses on the relationship between prisoners and their families. I have designed a brochure for HMP 2020. And this year, Tate commissioned me again to design for HMP 2021.
I was required to design a poster, a 16-page booklet, and a postcard within four days. Also, my client preferred vintage style, so I used primary colors and old newspapers in my work. Finally, I submitted the outcome on time, and my client was happy about it.
Feedback from the Client:
“We would definitely work with Leyao again. We were really impressed with how she interpreted it so quickly and clearly without any face-to-face contact with 'the client', and that was a real skill to do this. And she was obviously really good at being sympathetic to what we wanted.”
